Hundreds of fans and supporters from the State of Osun will today grace the epic week 6 NNL encounter between Osun United and Shooting Stars football club of Ibadan.
The match which holds at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan on Sunday, 19th May 2019 is important for both teams campaigning in group B1 of the super-abridged league where the table topper gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League and first from the rear drop into the Nationwide League.
A back to back victory of NNL Green Horns, Giant Brillars over the dilapidated Abia Comets has threatened the comfortability of the Oluyole Warriors on the top spot as “Nwa Boys” are now a point adrift of the boastful Warriors, who have become jittery with the preparedness of the Omoluabi Giants for today’s encounter.
The United Supporters Club, led by Alhaji Rafiu Abimbola, who are like Liverpool fans in terms of their undiluted loyalty to team have arranged free buses to convey people from the State of the Virtuous to Lekan Salami Stadium.
President of the Omoluabi Giants, Chief Ademola Adesina has lauded this gesture of Osun United Supporters Club which according to him, will serve as a morale booster for the players as they are battle ready to halt the arithmetic progression of the Shooting Stars who went into hiding as Osun United trained on their Turf.
“We appreciate the gesture of Osun United Supporters Club to organize free transportation to Ibadan to cheer us up. We ask for more backing from them because this is one of the things supporters abroad are doing to assist their team even at the trying periods just like ours’, dropped Chief Adesina.
The match kicks off 4pm.
