Governor Adegboyega Oyetola says the vision 30-30 tourism master plan is a laudable component of a comprehensive template for expanding the State’s economic diversification programme to increase its revenue drive.
Governor Oyetola stated this at launch of Osun State Tourism Master Plan tagged Culturr and Tourism For Sustainable Economy which took place in Osogbo.
The Governor appreciated the managing director of Sterling Bank Abubakar Suleiman for accepting to deliver the Osun Sterling Tourism 30-30 as a short term agenda in tourism while its long term plan is anchored on Culture for Sustainable Economy.
Mr Oyetola reiterated that Culture and Tourism for Sustainable economy will offer opportunities for youths disclosing that Culture and Tourism Club would soon be inaugurated in public schools.
Announcing the inauguration of Ambassador for Yoruba Language emphasised his resolve to take Yoruba as a language beyond the shores of Osun.
In their addresses, commissioner for culture and tourism Dr Bisi Obawale and the Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University Professot Ogunbodede observed that civilization should be harnessed to uplift culture and not to sink the African culture thus leading to loss of moral values.
They observed that Osun is home to undiluted culture and that dispersion of Yoruba in the World should attract the World to Osun. They lauded Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for giving culture and tourism a place of pride in his administration.
The programme witnessed unveiling of the vision 30-30 by the Governor and the Managing Director of the Sterling Bank with life and post humous awards to cultural ambassadors in the State such as the late Duro Ladipo and IK Dairo and Chief Jimoh Buraimoh among others. The awards were coordinated by the Deputy Governor Mr Benedict Arabia and the Secretary to the State Government Prince Wole Oyebamiji.
Osun Culture and Tourism Vision 30-30 is to celebrate 30 years of the creation of the State in 2021.
