Oyo releases measures for school resumption

OYO State Government has listed the COVID-19 preventive measures for schools as pupils in Primary 6 and the terminal classes in secondary schools await the July 6 resumption date in the state.

The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Olasunkanmi Olaleye, gave the indication in a statement in Ibadan, on Wednesday.

According to the commissioner, all categories of school heads, principals and teachers have been trained on how to monitor and report any sign of illness with symptoms of COVID-19 to the authority.

He said the state had set up emergency operation centres in Ibadan and in the zones, adding that incident managers have been appointed for schools.

Olaleye said, “Among the measures are the compulsory hand-washing points at the school entrances and at the entrance of each classroom as well as alcohol-based sanitiser for use by students and teachers.”
