Describes governor as masses friendly

The revitalization of Primary Health Care centers across the state by the Adegboyega Oyetola administration has been hailed and described as a timely intervention in the provision of basic health care services in the state.

These were the views of patients and health workers met in majority of the health centers visited by journalists on Tuesday during a statewide inspection of the health facilities.

From Osogbo to Ilesa, Ede and rural areas like Owode-Adejuwon visited by newsmen, the testimonies were the same as patients and especially nursing mothers who came for post natal care were seen on ground being attended to by health workers at the facilities.

In the words of Mrs Rafiu Motunrayo, a pregnant woman who came for ante-natal care at Adejuwon PHC, Ede-North local government “I can’t thank Governor Oyetola enough, as you can see that our village is far from the nearest town, if our governor had not put this hospital into proper shape i don’t know what I could have done.

“The governor has done so much for us through this health facility, this building had been taken over by weeds and rodents before Oyetola came into office, we are happy that it is now wearing a new look. By the grace of God I am confident that I will give birth to my baby here, they have everything to take care of me”. She said.

Pa Bisiriyu Adejumo, the Baale of Adejuwon who was at the health center for a medical check-up said, “I feel like just praying for Oyetola everyday for the rest of my life. He repaired this place, stucked it with all the needed drugs and recruited very good and accommodating health workers who attend to us very well everyday.

“With the standard of this facility, we don’t need to stress ourselves going to any hospital in Osogbo, we are okay with this one provided by the Governor. I told my children about it and they are very happy, I told them I am in good hands in terms of health care. Thank you governor Oyetola”. The octogenarian stated.

According to Mrs Agbajelola Simiat a patient at Isale Agbara who resides in Ita-Olookan, “i heard on radio that somebody is saying that Oyetola has not done anything on health care centers, seriously I don’t know where that individual is getting his own information from. The person needs to come and see things for himself/herself.

“This hospital where I am right now has just received the touch of government, it wasn’t like this before, there is also enough drugs which they give us for free, the nurses are always on ground and they are really good people. What else can we ask for, Oyetola is a good person”. Mrs Agbajelola stated.

“I don’t usually attend government hospitals, I do go to private hospitals for treatment. But since Governor Oyetola revitalized this place, I can see that it is now better than most private hospitals in town. The environment is now conducive and descent.

“It is also amazing to find out that the services we get here is even better than what we get at private hospitals despite the fact that we don’t pay here. I say thank you to our governor”. Mrs Elizabeth stressed.

The Senior Health Officer at PHC Owode, along Ilesa road, Mrs Elesho Christiana while describing the intervention of Governor Oyetola in the health sector as timely explained that the Owode health center was already in a dilapidated condition before the Intervention of the governor.

“The repair of this health facility came as a respite to me personally, I am so relieved. Before the Intervention, there was no water or electricity, the roof was already leaking, all our rooms and beds used to be full of water whenever it rains, but now things are different and we are excited and happy to do our job.

“I must also tell you that the patronage to this health center has increased tremendously after the revitalization, we now have more patients”. Mrs Elesho stated.
