Police cop fake military officer in Kano

Police in Kano State have arrested 27-year-old Abubakar Zailani Ibrahim, a fake military officer who specialized in extorting tricyclists in Kano metropolis.

Spokesman of the command DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa disclosed this in a statement issued to the newsmen.

He said the incident happened on Tuesday when the suspect who came from Adamawa State arrested a tricyclist and took him to Rijiyar Zaki station.

Kiyawa explained that the suspect claimed that some weeks ago, the said Tricyclist made away with his Military Uniform and other valuables valued at the sum of One Hundred and Ninety Five Thousand Naira (N195,000).

He said after the complaint, the police commenced investigation and found that the complainant is a fake military officer and has specialized in extorting tricyclists in Kano metropolis.

Kiyawa said further investigation revealed that all his claims were untrue.

The suspect, however, narrated to the newsmen that he stole the camouflage uniform from the room of his friend in Dutse, Jigawa State.
