Police kill three suspected kidnappers in Calabar

Three suspected kidnappers have lost their lives after a gun battle with operatives of the police Anti-Cultism/Kidnapping Squad.

The incident happened on Okoro Agbor Street in Calabar on Tuesday while the squad was trying to rescue a kidnap victim.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, said the squad members had gone to the area to rescue the person who was kidnapped.

She said, “The gang opened fire on sighting the police that resulted in exchange of gun fire which culminated in the death of three of the suspected kidnappers.

 “The kidnapped victim was rescued unhurt, now reunited with his family.”
