
Gov Elect/Alleged Looting of Treasury.
The Governor Elect Senator Ademola ADELEKE has warned against diversion and looting of government assets and public properties.
Senator ADELEKE in a release by his spokesperson Rasheed Olawale also alerted the public over alleged moves to convert to private ownership government assets ahead change of government.
According to the statement, Senator ADELEKE is in possession of complete records and inventory of what was handed over to the government by his predecessor as well as true state of Osun finance and properties.
The Governor elect also accused the incumbent Government of moves to perfect papers to acquire property belonging to the Government within and outside Nigeria.
It also added that the current administration is hurriedly awarding contracts with a view to siphoning public funds in addition to spending seventeen billion to prosecute the election.
In the meantime , Osun State government has described as untrue, claim by the Governor Elect Senator Ademola Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party that government officials are diverting or looting government assets and property.
Responding to the allegations by the Governor Elect, the State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, noted that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola does not have a background of pilfering or misappropriation of funds, saying that records are there for verification.
Mrs Egbemode also denied the allegation of seventeen billion naira loan to prosecute the election, describing Oyetola’s government as responsible adding that it has discharged its duties meritoriously.
She added that Governor Oyetola had managed the assets of the state in the last three-and-a-half years and had picked all the bills of the state without taking loans.
The Government’s statement calls on the people of Osun to ignore the accusations from the PDP.
