
Both Public and Private schools in the state on Monday, September 19 resume for the 2022/2023 academic session.
A visit to some schools in Ikirun and environs revealed that teachers and pupils turned out in large numbers for resumption.
According to our news correspondent Rotimi Adelugba, both teachers and pupils resumed to their different schools early in the morning.
It was revealed that pupils and students various schools visited in Ikirun, Iragbiji, Ororuwo, Ada among others were seen tidying up their classrooms, while some were rearranging their furniture.
In the meantime, the state government has re-emphasized its commitment to improving the standard of education as well as encourage morals and discipline.
Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin stated this while speaking with OSBC news.
Hon. Oladoyin said “we have instructed all teachers that behavioral reports will henceforth accompany students’ educational performance. We therefore call on teachers to be punctual, regular and be masters in their subjects to bring about academic improvement in our schools.
“As a government, we won’t bend the rule at ensuring that any students who fails examination repeats the class.’
Welcoming teacher and students back to school after long holiday, the Commissioner For Education maintained that necessary teaching aids and leaning materials have been provided, with adequately monitoring team to ensure quality education in public schools across the state.
