Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, believes Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, will improve with the Foxes in subsequent games.
The Nigerian, who joined Leicester from Manchester City in 2017, has had limited playing time at the club.
The 24-year-old missed a penalty kick in the Foxes’ 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace in December, which irked some fans of the club.
But Rodgers has come out in defence of the Nigerian, insisting that the forward will improve in subsequent games.
“It is difficult. But I’ve seen his confidence improve in the time I’ve been here. It’s always difficult when you’re coming and you’re playing behind one of the world’s best strikers,” Rodgers said.
“He’s continued to work. He trains every single day, he’s come in and made an impact in games for us. When he’s started in the Europa League, he’s done really well.
“He’s a good boy to have around the team.”
