Seven passengers, four cows, others killed in Delta crash

No fewer than seven persons, four cows and several goats died on Tuesday in a road crash at Uromi junction, Agbor, in the Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State

It was gathered that the accident involving a truck loaded with youths, cows and goats from the North crashed at the junction, leaving several other persons, goats and cows injured.

Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the crash occurred when the truck suffered brake failure, which resulted in multiple somersaults.

“About seven persons, four cows and many goats died on the spot, while many were injured,” an eyewitness said.

When contacted, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Delta State Command, Mr Uchechukwu Wihioka, who confirmed the accident and added that it was as a result of brake failure.

“The six persons, who died in the crash, actually jumped out from the truck as it was somersaulting in an attempt to save their lives,” Wihioka said.
