Sudan Ceasefire Breaks Down As Death Toll Nears 300

Fighting continues for a sixth day in Khartoum as the second attempt at a ceasefire breaks down.

Nearly 300 people have been killed in the past five days, according to the UN health agency. Thousands of people have fled Khartoum for safety.

The 177 Egyptian soldiers captured by the RSF have been evacuated on Egyptian military transport planes, according to the Sudanese army.

Dozens of hospitals are knocked out of service due to the fierce fighting amid low medical supplies.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has spoken to the rival generals as part of diplomatic efforts to end the fighting.
