Tambuwal Wins Sokoto South Senatorial Seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State winner of the Sokoto South Senatorial District elections.

Tambuwal, a former House of Representatives Speaker on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, won by 100, 860 votes to defeat Senator Abdullahi Ibrahim Danbaba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 95, 884 votes.

While announcing the results, the Returning Officer (RO) for the supplementary elections , Prof. Abubakar Abdullahi Bagudo said Tambuwal “having satisfied the requirement of the law is declared winner and returned elected.”

He was a three-term member of the House of Representatives and served as a speaker for 4 years.
