Three Katsina varsity students killed in road crash

Three students of the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University, Katsina, have died in a road crash.

Two others also sustained serious injuries in the accident, which occurred on Tuesday.

It was learnt that the vehicle that the students boarded to their home towns after they had completed their examination for the day was involved in the accident along the Katsina/Dutsin-ma highway.

The institution’s spokesman, Abdulhamid Danjuma, and the Chairman, National Association of Katsina State Students, UMYU chapter, Ibrahim Nasir, confirmed the accident.

The victims were identified as Hamza Lawal, a student of Mathematics Education; and Hamza Hamza and Salisu Garba, both undergraduates of Geography Education.

It was further learnt that Halili Ibrahim and Abdulbasit Aminu, students of Physics and Geography Education, respectively, sustained injuries in the crash and were receiving medical attention in a private hospital in Katsina.
