
Two people died after a vehicle in which they were travelling plunged into a river on Sunday morning along the Darazo-Dukku road.
Two other people sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Speaking to newsmen concerning the Sunday morning accident, the Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp, Bauchi Sector Command, Yusuf Abdullahi, that the accident was caused by speed violation, adding that the incident occurred on 26th September, 2021 at about 9.08am
Abdullahi said: “The crash happened on Gombe Abba bridge on Darazo-Dukku highway, 32 kilometers from the FRSC Darazo office.
“The crash involved a private 406 Peugeot with Registration number: 06H-04NS. The crash, which was caused by speed violation, involved four people.
“The driver lost control and plunged into the river. Two people were killed, while the remaining two were injured.
“The trapped victims and the vehicle were finally removed. The passengers were taken to the General Hospital, Dukku, Gombe State for confirmation at about 4.11pm, today 26th September, 2021.
“Two of them were confirmed dead by a medical doctor at the hospital.”
