Why I dragged gov Ishaku to court Rep member

A House of Representative Member from Taraba State, Hon. David Fuah representing Sardauna, Gashaka and Kurmi Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly on Wednesday explained why he took Governor Darius Ishaku to court.

In an interview Fuah who served as the Bursar of Taraba State Polytechnic between 2016 and early 2019 said he dragged the Governor to court to stop him (Governor Ishaku) from further attempts to witch hunt him.

According to him, the visitation panel to the polytechnic which indicted him was mainly targeted at nailing him politically at all cost.

“In view of the panels’ display of open sinister and vindictive mission against me, I went to court to stop the panels’ sitting and planned activities.

“But because the governor was out to tarnish my image, by all means, he mandated the panel to continue its sitting after the governor and the panel were served with the court order.

“The panel went ahead to sit without inviting me and present the premeditated report to the governor.

“I have, therefore, mandated my team of lawyers to file a contempt of court charge against the governor for receiving the report of the panel which was challenged in court.

“The target of the investigative panel was to tarnish my image and that is why my name featured prominently in the report when I was not the accounting officer of the Polytechnic but was merely receiving directive,” he said.

Our correspondent reports that the visitation panel to the Polytechnic which submitted its report to the governor last October indicted Mr. David Fuah who was the Bursar of the school and Mr. Daniel Mom who served as the Acting Rector within the period for misappropriating hundreds of millions of naira.

A civil society group had recently called on the State government to implement the recommendations of the visitation panel’s report and bring to book all those who were indicted by the report.
