Chief Press Secretary to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Mr. Ismail Omipidan, has said the planned 1500 teachers to be employed by the state government was the completing phase of the recruitment exercise which held recently.
Omipidan made the Clarification on Monday while featuring on an OSBC Current affairs weekly Yoruba personality interview, OSELU Wa.
The CPS noted that Governor Oyetola had initially announced that two thousand, five hundred teachers would be employed but one thousand of them were recruited with first batch, while the recruitment exercise would absorb the remaining one thousand five hundred.
“In clarifying the mis-information revolving around the ongoing teachers recruitment exercise in the state, I want to inform the good people that this is not a fresh recruitment. It is the completion of the ongoing recruitment exercise by the State Government.”
“Recall that the promise of Mr. Governor was to recruit 2,500 teachers as a result of massive retirement of teachers in the education sector for a couple of years. The government had also initially announced that this would be done in phases. The first phase was the employment of 1,000 teachers who had already been absorbed into the State’s Civil Service. Why was the cry over the completion of the process from the opposition party?. We should not mix politics with governance as the present administration has been transparent and open enough.”
Omipidan who described his principal as a man of action stressed that the governor has facilitated rapid change in various sectors.of the state such as health, road infrastructure, social security, among others.
He assured residents of the state that Oyetola
‘s administration would continue to spread dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state without discrimination.
