A mother of five and the wife of the besieged president of the Progressive Congress, APC in the Okpe local government region of Delta State, Richard Egbo, asked the Inspector General of Police, IGP, to intervene in what she described as the continued detention of her husband. Wife of the besieged president, Faith Egbo says her husband is being persecuted for allegedly confiscating an official car that was given to him as party president in Okpe.
It will be recalled that the besieged president, along with seven other presidents of the central senatorial district of Delta, in August 2019, received eight Toyota Corrolla each from the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege during the empowerment program of the legislator, before his alleged power to suspend for reasons which, according to the party, contravene his constitution, including acts of gross negligence.
According to his wife identified as Ms. Faith Egbo, her husband was arrested after having honored an invitation to the police station of the “ A ” division, Sapele following a petition against him by the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on the car that was given to him earlier as empowerment. Expressing her frustration at the idea of taking her husband out on bail, she said: “The efforts to move my husband to the headquarters of zone 5, Benin-City, of the police station of” A “division, Sapele, for judicial release, were frustrated because I ordered that my husband be transferred to the Delta State Police Headquarters, Asaba. “Describing the continued detention of the cars as criminally reprehensible, the party’s advertising secretary in the state, Sylvester Imonina, said:” The cars were purchased and shared with the presidents of local government regions in Delta Central, in order to to strengthen their movement in achieving the party account in their field. “These presidents, having been removed from their posts, it is morally and criminally wrong for them to keep these cars because the new presidents who replaced them need the cars to work for the good of the party in their local government areas. . “
