Tribunal: Oyetola Tenders More Evidences As Hearing Continues Thursday

The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, on Wednesday, tendered election results from four local government areas before the panel hearing his petition against the Peoples Democratic Party candidate at the last July 17 governorship poll, Ademola Adeleke, before the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal.

Oyetola, through his counsel, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, had tendered exhibits that include election results from Ede North, Ede South and Osogbo local government areas on Tuesday.

At Wednesday’s sitting, the petitioner, through his counsel, Yomi Aliu, SAN, applied to tender documents containing election results from another four local governments as exhibits.

Aliu also said respondents in the matter through their counsel, had checked the documents he wanted to lay before the court and urge the panel to admit them as exhibits.

Responding, counsel to the 1st respondent, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Niyi Owolade and Mr. Nathaniel Oke, SAN, who represented the second respondent, Senator Adeleke, as well as, Olakunle Faokunla, representing the PDP, though objected the documents, they, however, said they have checked through the results.

The documents tendered include; election results from 10 wards in Egbedore, 11 wards in Ejigbo, 10 wards in Ilesa West and 11 wards in Irepodun local government areas of the state.

In his ruling, the Tribunal Chairman, Justice Tertsea Kume, admitted the documents and marked them as exhibits before the panel.

He then adjourned the proceedings till Thursday.
