Teachers Get Award For High Performance

In a bid to encourage teachers who have innovatively improved the girl child learning, the development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) and The Education Partnership (TEP) have awarded four teachers for their outstanding performances.

At the 7th annual NEDIS West African Teacher Innovation Prize Award Ceremony, held at The Zone, Gbagada, with the theme: ‘Re-imagining  Education Development in Africa; Bridging the Skills Gap’, four teachers were awarded with lofty prizes.

Of 25 applicants, Ms. Aishatu Suleiman emerged the first prize winner with the sum of N1,944,000, while Mr. Alebiosu Oluwakayode of Government Senior College, Ikoyi Lagos went home with with N1,296,000 prize.

Mr. Ibraheem Gbenusola from Vetland Secondary School, Lagos, won N648,000 while Mr. Umar Samaila, from Danhalilu Memorial Community Day Secondary School Katsina won the sum of N360,000.

Director of Senior Secondary Education in Federal Ministry of Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, said skills acquisition are vital to technological development of a nation and also, catalyst for sustainable economy of any country.
