Governor Ademola Adeleke on Wednesday criss-crossed Osun state with campaign visitations to four federal constituencies, calling on voters to vote Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) and eschew violence.
From Ile Ife to Ijeshland down to Ila Orangun, the Governor addressed mammoth crowd of supporters while listing reasons why Osun people should massively vote for candidates of the PDP on Saturday and subsequent elections.
Accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, the Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Akinleye and other top party leaders, Governor Adeleke told the crowd in the various federal constituencies that a vote for the PDP candidates is a vote for good governance and better life for the people of the state.
“Cast your votes for Atiku Abubakar and all our national assembly candidates. Vote for Senator Fadahunsi, Chief Olubiyi Fadeyi (Ajagunla) and all the House of Representatives candidates. Cast your votes for our House of Assembly members. A vote for them is a vote for good governance, accountability and listening leadership.
“A vote for Atiku Abubakar is a vote for new Nigeria, for true federalism, for economic restoration. A vote for PDP is a continuation of July 16th liberation from bad government. My people, extend Imole to reach all legislative candidates and our presidential candidate. I urge you to complete the task you started last year July by ensuring massive win for PDP on Saturday”,
Governor Adeleke who handed over PDP flags to Senator Fadahunsi, Olubiyi Fadeyi (Ajagunla) and other PDP candidates in the constituencies described Osun as a PDP state, affirming that his government is delivering on good governance that will expand under an Atiku presidency.
“I however call for peaceful polls. I have directed security agencies to arrest hoodlums and thugs. I directed them to comb and empty all identifiable hideouts. Our government has zero tolerance for violence. Election is about choice and this should be done under peaceful conditions”, the State Governor told the crowd in various towns.
The State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Dr Adekunle Akindele and the Director General of Atiku Okowa presidential campaign council, Hon Sunday Bisi in their addresses called on voters to mobilize and vote PDP, calling such action a continuation of political light spreading all over Nigeria.
“On Saturday, vote PDP from top to bottom. Our Governor and his performance in office has shown how good a PDP government can be. A vote for PDP is the best choice come Saturday”, Dr Adekunle, the party Chairman said.
Hon Bisi in his own remarks described Saturday election as very crucial to Osun state and Nigeria, declaring that a vote for PDP will put an end to the suffering and pains of our people.
“The suffering and hardship must come to an end. The only way is PDP. Vote Atiku Abubakar, Fadahunsi, Ajagunla and all our legislative candidates”, he admonished.
