Notwithstanding the low turnout of voters, the just concluded election has been adjudged peaceful and orderly across Ifelodun State Constituency.
OSBC Reporter, Lateef Agboola, who led the news crew has reports that Polling Units visited include those in all the 12 Wards in Ifelodun Constituency, namely Olufi Village, Eko-Ende Ward 12; Iba Ward 9 and 10; Obaagun Ward 11 and wards 1 to 8 in Ikirun township, where a peaceful environment with orderliness and amity was observed among various parties’ agents.
Our news crew came across member house of representatives, representing Ifelodun Boripe Odo-Otin Federal constituency, Hon. Olalekan Afolabi; three former council chairmen, Mr. Remi Salami, Alhaji Sarafadeen Awotunde and Alhaji Omoloye Shittu; an ex local government and secretary, Hon. Segun Abioye; a journalist and lawyer, Alhaji Yemi Giwa; a youth mobilizer and politician, Mr. Adesina Oyerinde, among others.
They all lent credence to the fact that the election went smoothly without rancour or acrimony; while the INEC officials also conducted themselves in orderly manner; ust as security agents equally exhibited high level of professionalism and civility.
However, there was a pocket cases of BVAS malfunctioning earlier in the day in one or two polling units at Eko-Ende and Ikirun, but which was quickly addressed while the voting continued unabated.
OSBC news crew also came across the Sheriki Hausawa of Ikirun, Alhaji Abubakar Balarabe, who confirmed to our men that there was no rancour nor acrimony among the Hausa community and their hosts in Ikirun, even throughout the voting exercise; stressing that the INEC provided a level playground for all the electorate to perform their civic duty unhindered and without any form of discrimination
Similarly, investigations by our crew revealed that aged men and women were given consideration to cast their votes before the younger ones; while people with Disabilities were also accorded priorities to perform their civic duty conveniently.
