Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has said the Federal Governments has concluded plans to introduce solar-powered tricycles and motorcycles into the Nigerian Transportation System.
According to the minister, the initiative would solve the fuel challenges faced by motorcycles and tricycles riders in the course of their business activities.
Represented by the director of road transport and mass transit administration in the ministry, Dr. Anthonia Ekpa, Mr. Amaechi said the reason for this is to further ease transportation problems through the use of tricycles that will not need to use fuel.
He added that the programme has been put in the 2018 budget and will be implemented this year.
