Some members of the National Youth Service Corps stationed in the State of Osun welcomed the payment of an allowance of N 33,000 by the Federal Government.

The corp members expressed shock when they started receiving the credit alert, noting that the payment was a Federal Government’s New Year’s package.

One of the body members, Okolo Isaac, said it was like a dream when he got a call from another member of the corp about the payment.

“It’s another Good Friday for us,” he said enthusiastically.

Another body member, Mary Morris, said she still couldn’t believe it.

“We have been expecting to receive this N33,000 since April of last year, but we thank God for finally being paid.

In addition, Olawoyin Oreoluwa said it was too good to be true when she heard the news on Friday morning.

“The government has failed us in the past with its promises, but this question of the minimum wage has changed my perception.

“We are praying that things will improve in 2020 because people are really suffering and we urge the Federal Government to review the payment of our arrears,” she said.
