The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has stated his resolve to transform public transportation and rid the motor parks in the state of violence.

Adeleke stated this while inaugurating a committee on Transportation, noting his administration’s determination to sanitise motor parks across the state.

A statement by the spokesperson for the governor, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday, said Adeleke at the event also announced his vision of a new transport model for the state.

According to him, the target was to ensure a modern transport system and more appealing environment for investments, restating his readiness to clear parks in the state of thuggery and lawlessness.

The statement read in part, “Our administration is determined to sanitise motor parks across the state. We can no longer allow our parks to be breeding ground for thuggery and lawlessness.

“It is time to secure our state by making park environment safe, productive and enjoyable. Our goal is to develop modern transport terminals.

“The mandate of your committee therefore includes studying and reviewing the current park system; propose new park management model; and develop an implementation plan.”

Speaking on behalf of the committee, its chairman, Jola Akintola, promised to conduct the task in line with the mandate given to them.
