The lifeless body of a yet-to-be-identified man found floating on a river along Osogbo-Iragbiji road on Monday led to apprehension in the Kelebe community of Osogbo.

The body, according to eyewitnesses, was seen floating on Omu River by some passersby.

Residents of Kelebe area were said to have notified the Ota Efun Police Division about the corpse.

Policemen from the station, it was learnt, evacuated the corpse and deposited it in the morgue of Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

A resident of Kelebe community, Taiwo Aderibigbe, said the floating body was found on the river in the afternoon by passersby.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer of Osun State Command, Yemisi Opalola, said the corpse had been removed.

“The identity of the corpse is not yet known,” she added.
