Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused the traditional institution in Misau Local Government Area of the state of colluding with the Divisional Police Officer in the area to fraudulently dispossess people of over 100 hectares of land.

It had been reported that nine persons were killed and many injured following the crisis that erupted in Zadawa ward in Misau LGA of the state on Monday.

Following the development, the governor, while constituting a 19-member investigative panel at the Government House on Friday, announced the suspension of the Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman, the District Head of Chiromah, Ahmadun Ahmadu, and village head of Zadawa or his representative.

This was after the governor also suspended the Misau LGA Caretaker Chairman, Yaro Gwaram, his deputy, Baidu Kafin-Misau and the Council Secretary, Usman Abdu.

The governor, who spoke at the swearing-in of the Misau LGA Administrator, regretted that the crisis disrupted peace in the most peaceful LGA in the state.

He said that he had received a petition from the Fulani people against Ahmadun Ahmadu, the suspended Chiromah of Misau.

He said, “It is very important for you to look at it (petition) because they have sent their names and they are all Fulani people from Bangaranti village. They did it and they must be protected.

“I respect their guts, their patriotism, because over 100 hectares of land have been carted away (grabbed) by the activities of the traditional institution in collusion with the DPO, who has been posted out, and I understand that he is trying to come back with the collusion of the Emir.”
