A suspected kidnapper, (identity not disclosed), who disguised as a commercial bus driver, was on Tuesday arrested by a team of vigilantes at Moniya in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.
One of the passengers of the vehicle, who said they boarded the bus from Lagos Park in Iwo Road, said they (passengers) raised the alarm after the driver diverted from the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to the Moniya area of the city.
It was gathered that the passengers later forced the driver to stop the vehicle and alerted the local security men who were in the area.
The suspected criminal (driver) was said to have been whisked to Moniya Police Division.
One of the passengers, who said he boarded the vehicle at Iwo Road area of the city, said they were heading to Ikotun, but were surprised that the driver suddenly diverted the journey.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, said, “The suspect was taken to the Moniya Police Division before being transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, Ibadan.”
