I am delighted to be here to declare open this four-day Retreat and to inaugurate the Newly Established Programmes and Projects Implementation Monitoring Committee of our administration.
I thank the organisers and the distinguished members of this Committee for accepting to be of service to the State at this significant level and for your commitment to this Administration.
This retreat affords us an opportunity to recaliberate and prepare ourselves for the 2021 fiscal year.
This Committee is necessitated by the need to harmonise our programmes, enhance efficiency and ensure the prompt implementation of our development agenda.
You have been chosen as members of this committee because of the central role you play in this administration.
Therefore, I urge you to take this task very seriously.
It is expected that with this Committee in place, we would be able to furher block loopholes and ensure that all programmes and projects are adequately aligned with the spirit and intents of our Administration’s Development Agenda and economic revitalisation.
During our campaigns in the build up to the election, we promised to serve our people with sincerity of purpose and to offer responsible governance that runs with the values of probity, accountability and transparency.
In the last two years, we have laboured to fulfill these goals. However, we must not rest on our oars. This is because it is in working harder that we would be able to deliver more on our electoral promises while leaving a legacy of unparraleled service delivery.
Posterity will only be favourable to us if we serve our people to the best of our abilities.
Once again, I commend organisers of this retreat, and charge you all to pay adequate attention to matters that will engage your attention at this programme.
It is on this note that I declare this Retreat open and to inaugurate the Programmes and Projects Implementation Monitoring Committee to the Glory of God and for the benefit of our people.
