Three persons, who allegedly robbed a Point of Sale terminal operator in Ogidi, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, have been arrested by the police.

The suspects were arrested by the personnel of the Operation Puff Adder II attached to the Iyara Division.

According to a statement on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Aya, three armed men had on Tuesday invaded a PoS shop in Ogidi, attacked the operator, inflicted injuries on him and forcefully collected unspecified amount of money from him.

The statement explained that upon getting the report of the incident, the Operation Puff Adder II personnel swung into action, trailed the suspects to their hideout and arrested them.

The suspects were identified as Gideon Zaccus, 45; Medupin Joseph, 24; and Ofolabi David, 20.

The PPRO said the policemen recovered one single-barrelled gun and phones from the syndicate.

He stated that the suspects would be arraigned on the completion of investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police reassures members of the public of the command’s high level of commitment in synergy with other security agencies in the state to ensuring adequate protection of lives and properties,” he added.
