Suspected bandits kill five, burn nine houses and three vehicles in Kaduna village

Suspected bandits killed five people, burnt nine houses, three vehicles in Madamai village in Kagoro Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A resident in the area, who is also a Councilor representing her district, Mrs. Rhoda Abdullahi said the gunmen entered the village at midnight on Sunday and started shooting sporadically, while people ran for their lives.

According to her, in the ensuing shooting, five people identified as Janet Yakubu, Gambo Yakubu, Jonathan Adamu, Mrs Monday and Humphrey Barnabas were killed.

The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, did not pick his calls nor did he respond to text messages sent to him for confirmation.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, reacting to the killings, condemned the resurgence of gruesome violence in the area

She appealed to residents to remain calm, and directed security agencies to conduct thorough investigations into the incident.
