The Eminent Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV on Sunday 30th January, 2022 received an award of recognition
at the World Institute for Peace (WIP) 8th anniversary celebration which held at the Army Resource Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.
The Knight of World Peace award was decorated on very few dignitaries including His Excellency Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Rtd. Gen. T. Y. Buratai, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife and our very own monarch, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji land amongst others.
This prestigious award was bestowed upon Oba Olabomi as a show of recognition of his support to the organization’s efforts at “thinking out of the box” on working to facilitate World Peace since its inception since 2014 till date and the role he has played on various peace keeping events around the globe in order to have a peaceful world where every human can coexist said the Chairman of WIP, Comrade Lamina Omotoyosi in his speech.
HRM Aragbiji expressed delight to have been chosen among many for this special Award and appreciated the leadership behind the organization for the honour. He went ahead to make a commitment that he won’t relent on his peace making mission until the world at large experiences peace and the world becomes a better place for humanity. This he urged every other awardee to take up as well as others present at the event both physical and virtual.
Oba Olabomi went ahead to commend the Keynote Speaker of the occasion Prof. Wasiu Ademola Oyedokun Alli, a Director at the Federal University of Technology, Oye Ekiti who skillfully delivered a powerful lecture on peace and the causes and effects of breakdown of peace with his paper titled, “Peace is ultimate”. There are lots of take home lessons in that lecture says Aragbiji.
Lastly, the prominent monarch congratulated fellow recipients of the award and all those who were newly inducted as members of WIP. He then prayed that the Almighty God will make the organization grow even bigger and make greater impact around the world as the awardees at the occasion and all already existing 17 ambassadors in different nations get to work together in pursuing the purpose of the organization.
