The Academic Staff Union of Universities is set to meet with the management of the National Information Technology Development Agency by 2p.m today (Monday) over the deployment of the University Transparency Accountability System for the Payment of university lecturers.

The National President of the union, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja.

ASUU in a press statement released on Sunday had accused the Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa and the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami of deliberately trying to mislead the public on the report of the integrity test conducted on UTAS.

Inuwa had during a press briefing with state house correspondents last week had said that UTAS had failed the integrity test.

But the ASUU chairman told newsmen that the ASUU team would be meeting with the NITDA team.

“We have a meeting with NITDA by 2 pm today on the UTAS issue. You’ll be briefed adequately”, Osodeke said.

ASUU had on Monday announced an extension of the initial four-week strike announced by the union.
