FG reiterates Commitment towards Quality Education for Children

The Federal government for the umpteenth times has reiterated its total commitment at ensuring that virtually all Nigerian children irrespective of their backgrounds have an equal and unhindered access to quality basic education.

Minister of Education , Mallam Adamu Adamu who disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting currently going on in the city of Kano, Kano state affirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari led administration will continue to put all necessary machinery in place to make make it a reality

At the meeting being attended by SUBEB Chairmen throughout Nigeria alongside top management of UBEC, the Minister noted with happiness that the focus of the meeting which hinges on the Nigerian Child whose success and progress underpins the overall progress of the nation and serves as hope for future generations is well chosen ,stressing that it couldn’t have come at a better time than now when situated against the backdrop of President Buharis administration resolve to give a total rebirth to the education sector.

The education minister particularly commended both UBEC and SUBEBs collective efforts in ensuring that the Kano stakeholders meeting holds despite the on going National Personnel Audit of basic education institutions going on in all states of the Nigerian federation.

In the meantime,the Executive Secretary ,Osun SUBEB Mr Adeoye Bakare who is currently attending the nationwide stakeholders meeting in kano was emphatic that the high powered delegation currently brainstorming on the menace of out of school children will come out with a far reaching conclusion on the way forward.

Adeoye further observed that the theme of the meeting which centred on Rethinking the Approach of Addressing the Challenges of out of school phenomenon in Nigeria is apt and timely by all yardsticks . The Osun Executive Secretary of the board commended the Organisers of the stakeholders meeting particularly Dr Hameed Boboyi led UBEC for its concern and foresight.

Earlier in his welcome address ,the Executive Secretary ,UBEC , Dr Hamid Boboyi appreciated the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu for always painstakingly attending to educational matters all the time notwithstanding the enormity of his busy schedules as a minister .
While urging all stakeholders in education sector to remain focussed by being alive to their responsibilities in the corporate ideal of achieving access to quality basic education for all Nigerian children , the Ubec boss, however, emphasised the need for the federal government to urgently fashion out an urgent nationwide scheme that will serve as a catalyst that will eventually lead to a reduction of out of school children phenomenon currently facing some states in Nigeria.

At the end of the meeting, it is expected that a communique will be issued which ,among other far reaching deliberations will serve as a roadmap of finding a lasting solution to the menace of out of school children in Nigeria.
