President Muhammadu Buhari has sympathised with the government and people of Ethiopia over the crash of an Ethiopian airliner, killing 149 passengers and eight crew members.
The plane, which was bound for Nairobi, Kenya, went down in the early hours today. Aside from Ethiopians, there were Nationals of Canada, China, Kenya and others aboard the airliner.
Reacting to the news of the incident in Daura, Katsina state, the president expressed shock, saying that the high casualty figure was worrying indeed.
Besides greeting the immediate families of the victims, President Buhari sent condolences to the leaders and people of all the countries whose nationals were involved in the accident.
