A number of bandits have been reportedly killed as they unleashed terror on Karakkai village, in Nahuche district of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara state on Saturday.

They were also said to have killed seven indigenes.

Some of the villagers revealed that over twenty bandits were neutralized by joint task force between Nigerian Army and Civilian (JTF) and scores of arms were recovered, which include motorcycles, guns and ammunition.

According to the sources, many of the bandits were arrested by the security operatives.

The newsmen learnt that a number of local food stores were burnt by the bandits.

“They would have killed more than the seven people but for the timely intervention of the Quick Response from the Nigeria Army when they received distress calls from the people of Karakkai

“We pray that Allah SWT should admit those that lost their lives into Jannah, grant their families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and may Allah bring lasting peace to our State and country at large,” the source said.
