Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Rivers State have arrested 36 criminals for different offenses in the state.
The security agents also recovered 14 guns and over 200 pieces of ammunition from the suspects who were arrested in different parts of the state.
Parading the suspects in Port Harcourt, Friday, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Friday Eboka, noted that the success was recorded following the intelligence gathering of officers and men of the command and cooperation of the public in crime-fighting.
Eboka noted that the efforts of Police have brought cult-related activities, kidnapping and other vice to a barest minimum, calling for continuous supports by the public.
He said: “You will recall that when I assumed duty as the CP of the State in mid-February this year, I solicited the support of all and promised to serve the good people of the State conscientiously. The people responded positively and we recorded significant achievements too numerous to enumerate.
“You will all agree with me that cultism, kidnapping, and other violent crimes have nosedived. Within this period the Command arrested the total of 3 Armed Robbery Suspects, 27 Kidnap Suspects, 6 Cultists.
A total of six kidnap victims were rescued 14 arms and 2 vehicles recovered.”
