
On Friday, a Osogbo trial court in Osun ordered Oluwo d’Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, to appear in court for an alleged assault. The magistrate Olusegun Ayilara, ruling on a request for an expert, ordered the police to put the traditional sovereign in formal notice before a date was fixed for the hearing of the case.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr. Soji Oyetayo asked the court for an order on exparte request in order to file an application against Oluwo. NAN reports that Oluwois accused of attacking and hitting another monarch, Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikrulahi Akinropo at a peace meeting on February 14. The peace meeting was convened by an assistant inspector general of the police in charge of zone 11, Mr. Bashir Makama, in his office where the incident allegedly took place. (NOPE)
