The Bauchi state governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has directed the immediate payment of salaries of all civil servants in the state.
The immediate past governor of the state, Mohammed Abubakar, paid workers from levels 12 downwards but neglected 13 and above in April as of the time he handed over power last week.
But in a statement by the governor’s senior special assistant on media, Mukhtar Gidado, and made available to newsmen in Bauchi, governor Mohammed directed that all workers must get paid on or before Monday.
The governor reiterated that his administration will ensure that the welfare of workers is one of its cardinal principles, and therefore enjoined all civil servants to always be committed to their work for effective and efficient service delivery.
