
Anambra State Government has placed all its entry points under full-scale watch as part of precautionary measures towards containing Coronavirus pandemic from the state.
The State has boundary with six states including Enugu, Imo, Abia, Delta, Kogi and Rivers.
Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Onitsha while inspecting some border areas at Onitsha Head Bridge and Amansea, Commissioner for Transport, Dr Christian Madubuko said interstate commercial buses must provide passengers manifest.
He said the move followed the government’s multi sectoral approach aimed at combating the spread of Covid-19 involving the use temperature readers to check commuters at the border points.
He underscored the need for transport operators to imbibe the habit of moving with passengers manifest at this challenging time to ease contact tracing in the event of any identified case.
He said, “We are trying to see that those coming from other states comply with our directives. We want to check where they are coming from, where they are going and if they are properly checked for manifest.
