The General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has said that Coronavirus is real.

Speaking at the unveiling of the renovated UNILAG Senate House Basement on Monday, which was financed by him, Olukoya appealed to the federal government to create more awareness on coronavirus, adding that some people did not believe COVID-19 existed.

“I think the first thing is to convince the populace that it is real because some people don’t believe it exists. But I am a man of God and I know that it exists, so we should not joke with it. People should obey all the rules, protocols and most importantly we should pray that this pandemic will be wiped off. This is strange to us in microbiology,” Olukoya said.

Recently, Nigeria has been recording more cases of COVID-19 infections.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, as of Monday, Nigeria recorded 1204 new infections. So far, 91,351 cases have been confirmed with 75,699 discharged and 1,318 deaths recorded.

In an online report, (Aljazeera), Director of the Centre for Human and Zoonotic Virology at the Lagos University College of Medicine and Teaching Hospital, Sunday Omilabu, said the variants discovered in the UK and South Africa were distantly different from the variants discovered in Nigeria saying that Nigeria was seeing more infections of COVID-19 but it was not yet certain if that was from the variant.
