A security officer and one other person have been killed in the Ugbolu community, near Asaba, 24 hour hours before the General Election in Delta State.
It was gathered that the hoodlums suspected to be Indigenous People of Biafra invaded the community and killed two in the early hours of Friday creating tension in the communities
The officer was allegedly beheaded and burnt to death with a motorcycle along Ugbolu mi-5 road.
It was learnt the IPOB members were chanting and shooting no election, resulting in the death of two persons; a security officer and a civilian allegedly stabbed to death.
The dead bodies were found along Ugbolu road around 7:30 am, near the 63 Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the death but said only one dead body was found.
Edafe said the details of the killing of the unidentified man were yet-to-be-ascertained, saying, “we are investigating the matter”.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Delta State Command said it deployed 2979 personnel to provide security for the general election.
The state commandant, Mr Akinsanya Abiodun, stated that the Corps in Delta State in collaboration with other security agencies is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the security of lives and properties of Deltans before, during and after the election.
