Osun State Magistrate’s Court has ordered that four men charged with armed robbery should be remanded in Ilesa Prison.

The defendants are Akanmu Adedayo, Bolaji Ganiyu,  Adeyemo Gbolahan and Olawale Ridwan.

Sergeant, Fatoba Temitope, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on February 10, at about 2pm in the Ota-Efun area of Osogbo. Temitope said the defendants conspired with others still at large to rob Adeniyi Yisa, Popoola Afeez, Tosin Atoyebi and Abdulwasiu Ishmeel, at gunpoint.

According to him, they collected huge sums of money, mobile phones and other items from their victims before they were apprehended.

However, with the help of police detectives, the armed robbers were tracked down.

The prosecutor  while passing his judgment said the offence contravened sections 1(1)(2) (a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R11, Vol.14 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, while  Mrs Olubunmi Ajanaku,  adjourned the case till June 19 for mention.
