The suspects, identified as Sergeants Adamu Ubale and Muritala Ismail, are facing two counts of conspiracy and culpable homicide resulting in the death of one Ibrahim Suleiman, 25, and one Abubakar Isah, 30.

The prosecutor, Sa’adatu Ibrahim, told the court that the defendants, conspired with two others, now at large, to act in a manner contrary to the provisions of sections 97 and 221 of the Penal Code Law.

The police first information report read, “On November 15, 2020, around 11pm, Sergeant Adamu Ubale attached to the Anti-Daba Operational Base, and Muritala Ismail criminally conspired.

“You criminally conspired with two special constabularies namely PC Kabiru and PC Ibrahim, now at large and intercepted some hoodlums, resulting into a physical fight. And one Ibrahim Suleiman, 25, and Abubakar Isah, 30, both of the Sharada Quarter, were shot and stabbed to death.”

The defendants denied the content of the charge sheet and told the court that the allegations against them were false.

The prosecution counsel informed the court that the investigation was still in progress.

However, the presiding Senior Magistrate, Mallam Aminu Gabari, ordered that the policemen be remanded in a correctional facility and adjourned the case till March 30 for further hearing.
