The Wellu Wellu singer, who recently turned 50, expressed his gratefulness to God for the achievements in his career and for sparing his life.
“Turning 50 has been an exciting journey and God has been faithful. When we were much younger, we used to think that the people in their 50s were very old but we know better now. I am most grateful to God that I’m alive to celebrate my 50th especially after the whole world was plagued with the Covid-19 pandemic.
“So for me to be alive to celebrate my 50th in good health, there is a lot to be grateful for. Even though we couldn’t celebrate with a big party because of the Covid-19 restrictions, we’re still able to mark it with a few family and friends. I am on the fifth floor now, I’m grateful but the best of Sammie Okposo is yet to come,” he said.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-5089981496810613&output=html&h=280&slotname=5364422452&adk=1919976116&adf=3310025315&pi=t.ma~as.5364422452&w=750&fwrn=4&fwrnh=100&lmt=1630314826&rafmt=1&psa=1&format=750×280&url=https%3A%2F%2Fthenationonlineng.net%2Fsammie-okposo-marks-50th-birthday-with-us-tour%2F&flash=0&fwr=0&fwrattr=true&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&wgl=1&uach=WyJXaW5kb3dzIiwiNi4xIiwieDg2IiwiIiwiOTIuMC40NTE1LjE1OSIsW10sbnVsbCxudWxsLG51bGxd&tt_state=W3siaXNzdWVyT3JpZ2luIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly9hdHRlc3RhdGlvbi5hbmRyb2lkLmNvbSIsInN0YXRlIjo3fV0.&dt=1630318390226&bpp=2&bdt=478&idt=1124&shv=r20210824&mjsv=m202108240101&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3Dd775313c7e912bbf%3AT%3D1628161568%3AS%3DALNI_MaR4yjUFkhWmaH_pkwwriLEygw7eA&prev_fmts=970×90&correlator=4936677980595&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=653214049.1630318052&ga_sid=1630318391&ga_hid=67699984&ga_fc=0&ga_cid=1807496953.1627289008&u_tz=60&u_his=4&u_java=0&u_h=800&u_w=1280&u_ah=760&u_aw=1280&u_cd=24&u_nplug=3&u_nmime=4&adx=62&ady=1794&biw=1263&bih=657&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&eid=44748388%2C21067496%2C31062297&oid=3&pvsid=2767587463542446&pem=565&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fthenationonlineng.net%2F&eae=0&fc=896&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C1280%2C0%2C1280%2C760%2C1280%2C657&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7CeEbr%7C&abl=CS&pfx=0&fu=128&bc=31&ifi=2&uci=a!2&btvi=1&fsb=1&xpc=Y4n3O09RdY&p=https%3A//thenationonlineng.net&dtd=1153

“Gospel music in Nigeria has thrived very well. It has moved from where it used to be. A few of us that were pace setters kept it alive while the new artists that have joined us brought in more fire. So it is a whole lot better than what it used to be. We are having international collaborations, concerts, and tours.
“My last single ‘Too good to be true’ has hit over a million views on Youtube and the one before it, “Sing Halleluyah” has gotten almost 2 million views. I also just released the live version of one of my previous songs, Omeriwo which featured Mercy Chinwe and Henry Soul in the studio version.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-5089981496810613&output=html&h=280&slotname=5364422452&adk=1919976116&adf=404102400&pi=t.ma~as.5364422452&w=750&fwrn=4&fwrnh=100&lmt=1630314826&rafmt=1&psa=1&format=750×280&url=https%3A%2F%2Fthenationonlineng.net%2Fsammie-okposo-marks-50th-birthday-with-us-tour%2F&flash=0&fwr=0&fwrattr=true&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&wgl=1&uach=WyJXaW5kb3dzIiwiNi4xIiwieDg2IiwiIiwiOTIuMC40NTE1LjE1OSIsW10sbnVsbCxudWxsLG51bGxd&tt_state=W3siaXNzdWVyT3JpZ2luIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly9hdHRlc3RhdGlvbi5hbmRyb2lkLmNvbSIsInN0YXRlIjo3fV0.&dt=1630318390228&bpp=2&bdt=480&idt=4678&shv=r20210824&mjsv=m202108240101&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3Dd775313c7e912bbf%3AT%3D1628161568%3AS%3DALNI_MaR4yjUFkhWmaH_pkwwriLEygw7eA&prev_fmts=970×90%2C750x280&correlator=4936677980595&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=653214049.1630318052&ga_sid=1630318391&ga_hid=67699984&ga_fc=0&ga_cid=1807496953.1627289008&u_tz=60&u_his=4&u_java=0&u_h=800&u_w=1280&u_ah=760&u_aw=1280&u_cd=24&u_nplug=3&u_nmime=4&adx=62&ady=2525&biw=1263&bih=657&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&eid=44748388%2C21067496%2C31062297&oid=3&pvsid=2767587463542446&pem=565&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fthenationonlineng.net%2F&eae=0&fc=896&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C1280%2C0%2C1280%2C760%2C1280%2C657&vis=1&rsz=o%7Co%7CeEbr%7C&abl=NS&pfx=0&fu=128&bc=31&ifi=3&uci=a!3&btvi=2&fsb=1&xpc=hPXEI9IzQY&p=https%3A//thenationonlineng.net&dtd=4699
“The live version of the song featured two of my band singers, Joy Uche Ogbona and Lillian Collins. There will always be room for improvement anyways”.
