Chief Executive Officer of Hammola Int’l Football Club Ido Osun, Muhydeen Odeyemi has been given the title of Ambassador of Sports in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency Area of Osun State.
The appointment was confirmed on Saturday, November 19, by the lawmaker representing the constituency at the House of Representatives in Abuja, Hon. Bamidele Salam in his speech during the final of the 2022 Hammola Football Championship which held at Ido Osun High School.
Recall that Hammola FC pipped IMO FA by two goals to nil to emerge champions of the competition after the third attempt.
In his remarks, Hon. Salam who graced the final together with Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 General Election, Akogun Lere Oyemuwi, Hon. Rotimi Ogunriade, Mr. Oyedele Bamiji among other dignitaries, said “today is a memorable day as we join our visionary brother, Muhydeen Odeyemi in the final of Hammola Football Championship holding today. We are happy for him in his efforts at promoting grassroot football development not only in Ido Osun and Egbedore but across Osun State.
“Muhydeen was then the Ambassador of Football in Ido but has now become Soccer Ambassador in our Federal Constituency due to his good initiative of promoting football in this constituency and beyond. He has turned Hammola Int’l FC to a great club known across the world and as a team to beat.
“We are so proud of him cos he’s doing very well. He has started an initiative that we must support and it’s a must for us to support him. If we have 5 or 10 youth who are like Hammola who can replicate this kind of initiative in our federal constituency, sports could have developed more than this. We also appreciate his support to our party and pray that all of us will reap bountifully from the fruits of the party,” stated Hon. Salam
Also speaking, Olojudo of Ido Osun, HRM Adeen Adedapo Sapoyoro the first lauded ‘Odhelee’ for promoting the name and image of Ido Osun through sports in the global map. HRM Adeen prayed for him and urged other youth to emulate Muhydeen.
Earlier, in his vote of thanks, the CEO Hammola FC Muhydeen Odedele appreciated the Olojudo and his chiefs, Akogun Oyewumi, Honourables Salam and Ogunrinade, Osun FA and GFCC and particularly Egbedore GFCC who initiated the idea and all dignitaries who graced the final.
He said “I am happy for the success of the competition after more than a month and thank everyone who supported us from the beginning. The support from Kabiesi Olojudo and his chiefs was massive as well as those of my bosses in the political arena who came today. They never looked down on me as they always answer when I call on them. May God bless them all.”
Speaking about the final, Odhelee said “the two teams played well and I am happy Hammola finally won it this year after reaching the third final. It’s a testimony to our improvement over the years and we won’t stop because we’re taking Hammola Int’l FC to the World.
“I commend the management led by Coach Leke Adediran Hamzat, the technical crew, players, fans and supporters for their full backing. I assure them that we won’t relent in our aspirations of building the career for our talented youth across Osun and beyond,” Muhydeen concluded.
