Although she is the First Lady of Ondo State, many people do not know that Ms. Betty Anyawun-Akeredolu is from the eastern part of Nigeria. She speaks and understands the Yoruba language perfectly. The only thing that can give an indication is her full name – but she is often called Ms. Akeredolu.
Betty, who survived cancer, married Governor Rotimi Akeredolu 40 years ago and the union has four children.
The Social Circuit met as the couple met during their compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program at a friend’s home in Enugu.
The insider explained, “The governor accompanied his friend who visited his girlfriend and the rest is history. I think it was love at first sight for them because everything was so fluid. Even though the woman is three years older than her husband, she has always respected him. When they met, she was 25 when he was 22. But they respect and love each other very much. “
