The Imo State Governor-elect, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, avered that autmost attention will be given to youth empowerment, food production, commerce and tourism.
He said this in a workshop organized by the National Association of Nigerian Traders for farmers and traders in Owerri.
In his words,70 percent of unemployed youth need to be positively engaged, he emphasized that some of youth had taken to certain vices as a result of hardship. A Representative of the Governor, Mr Damian Ezeagu, a fish farmer and a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, said he would create an agriculture revolution in Imo to create wealth.
He added that to achieve this, some hectares of land in Ngor Okpala, Mbaise, Ohaji Egbema and other Local Government Areas with vast land for agriculture, would be utilised.
The Governor-elect stressed that his government would focus on agriculture, trading and tourism and pleaded for the support of organizations such as NANTS because the government cannot thrive alone.
