There was Pandemonium at Mallam Aminu International Airport on Tuesday morning, when a domestic passenger aircraft from Lagos landed and the pilot refused to open door to allow passengers to disembark at the Airport.

The reasons for the pilot not opening the door, it was gathered at the Airport, was as a result of a suspected case of coronavirus of a passenger on board the plane.

Sources at the airport said that the suspected patient flew into Kano with Air Peace Airline and landed at MAKIA at about 8.04 am on Tuesday.

The source, who confided with The Nation, said that the pilot of the plane before landing had alerted the airport of a sick passenger on board.

On landing, it was gathered, the patient was said to have vomited.

Following the deteriorating condition of the suspected patient, he was instantly rushed to hospital by the medical team at the airport

However, reacting to the situation Co-Chair, Kano State Task Force on COVID-19, Prof. Abdul Razak Habib said the patient is not a suspected case as a preliminary test run on the patient test negative and he does not have the symptoms of COVID-19.

‘’The case is a young man of 17-years old and a first-timer boarding aircraft. Hence the boy boarded the aircraft for the first time and developed phobia,’’ Prof. Habib said.
