The National Universities Commission may have decided to hold virtual meetings with the stakeholders in the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso to resolve the crisis rocking the school.
The NUC had scheduled a meeting with stakeholders, including representatives of the Oyo and Osun states for last Friday, but the meeting failed to hold.
Sources in the university told our correspondent on Monday that the meeting did not hold because the flight expected to bring the NUC officials to the airport in Ilorin, Kwara State, was cancelled at the last minute.
The NUC had invited Oyo and Osun states, the principal officers of the university and the staff unions to the meeting.
A source in the university said, “They said a new date would be communicated to us and we suggested to them that subsequent meetings should be held virtually. They said they would communicate to us later.”
Recall that the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and his Osun State counterpart, Gboyega Oyetola, had jointly set up a 10-man committee to work out modalities of resolving the crisis rocking LAUTECH.
