The Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat has started an induction program for the newly-elected and returning governors.

Chairman of the Forum and the outgoing Governor of Zamafara State, Abdulaziz Yari, told the newly-elected governors to get ready to face new challenges.
Yari praised President Buhari for releasing bailout funds to the states, he also called on state governors to amplify their Internally Generated Revenue, stating that over dependence on crude oil would not help the states to meet their financial challenges.
Some documents issued by the NGF secretariat showed that the induction is meant to support incoming governors to develop major governance and management skills that will enable them to transit from campaigning to managing the processes of governance.
The induction also prepares Governors to build bridges for effective leadership and heighten their knowledge and skills on the principles of governance.
